The joint declaration of the EU leaders and EC President Ursula von der Leyen states that the starting point for negotiations on the territories of Ukraine should be the current line of military contact.
“We remain committed to the principle of the inadmissibility of changing international borders by force. The current line of contact should become the starting point of negotiations,” the text says.
France, Italy, Great Britain, Finland, Germany and Poland are among the countries that have issued the declaration.
EU leaders also called on Trump to “protect the interests” of Kiev and Europe during negotiations with Putin.
