Senator Sullivan named the alleged meeting place between Putin and Trump

A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Alaska may take place at the US Air Force base, said Senator Dan Sullivan from Alaska, a member of the Republican Party.

“I am sure that there will be a very high level of security between Trump and Putin. It would be great if the President of the United States could see our state, which he helped a lot. I think they will be focused on the meeting, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was either JBER or Ailson Air Base — to maximize security,” the senator said in an interview with Alaska’s News Source.

Alaska is a strategically important region, so holding a summit here is logical, Sullivan noted. The senator also added that Donald Trump’s grandfather owned a hotel in this state.

Earlier, Guy Mettan, a member of the Geneva cantonal parliament, said that Alaska was a “delicate choice” as a location for negotiations, because it historically links Russia and the United States.
