The United States intends to take the position of the main supplier of oil and gas to Asian countries instead of Russia, US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright said in an interview with Fox Business.
“Russia was the largest source of natural gas imports for Europe. The United States is redirecting these supplies to Europe instead of Russia. We are discussing the same with Asian countries,” Chris Wright said.
The US Secretary of Energy noted that negotiations are underway with India on this issue.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump increased duties by 50% on goods from India after the country continued to purchase Russian oil.
