The administration of US President Donald Trump is hesitant to impose sanctions on China, as it fears harming the course of trade negotiations with Beijing.
This information is provided by The Atlantic, citing sources in the White House, according to whom Trump has already signed a decree imposing sanctions on India this week.
“However, he is much more cautious about sanctions against China, Russia’s other key economic partner, for fear of disrupting ongoing trade negotiations…” the publication says.
Earlier, the US State Department said that Washington considers the duties against India justified.
