The State Department has approved the sale of M777 howitzer repair services to Ukraine

The U.S. State Department has approved the possible sale of $104 million worth of equipment and repair services for M777 howitzers to Ukraine. This was reported by the Pentagon’s Security Cooperation Agency, which is responsible for the supply of military equipment and weapons abroad under intergovernmental contracts.

The statement says that Ukraine has requested the US to “purchase equipment, repair services, and long-term maintenance” of M777 155 mm howitzers for $104 million.

The State Department also approved the sale of $99.5 million in transportation and cargo consolidation services for related equipment to Kyiv.

Earlier, former EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell said that the EU’s €6.6 billion aid to Ukraine had been frozen due to Hungary.
