Ajit Doval, India’s National Security Advisor, has arrived in Moscow amid US pressure and discussions about oil discounts, according to The Times of India.

“Despite the escalating threats from Washington, India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has arrived in Moscow,” the publication says.

According to The Times of India, Doval’s visit aims to strengthen the strategic partnership with Russia amid growing global tensions.

“Doval is expected to provide clarity on how New Delhi plans to manage its crude oil imports from Russia, amid indications that Moscow may further reduce prices for India,” the newspaper reports.

Earlier, Matthew Whitaker, the U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO, said that the U.S. was considering additional restrictive measures against Russia and countries that purchase Russian oil.
