The Guardian: Israel has closed 88% of the IDF’s war crimes cases

In Israel, 88% of cases related to Israeli military war crimes or abuse by military personnel during the conflict in the Gaza Strip have been closed.

This was reported by The Guardian, citing sources.

“Almost 9 out of 10 investigations… were closed without identifying any violations or remained unresolved,” the article states.

The Action on Armed Violence (AOAV) organization points to Israel’s desire to establish a “system of impunity.”

According to the organization, unsolved investigations include the killing of at least 112 Palestinians who were standing in line for flour in the Gaza city in February 2024, as well as an airstrike that resulted in the burning alive of 45 people in a tent camp in Rafah in May 2024.

In September 2024, the Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that Ankara considers Israel’s attack on Palestinian camps in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip to be a war crime.
