Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, engaged in a debate with US President Donald Trump regarding the latter’s attempts to exert pressure on Moscow.
Dmitry Medvedev commented on Donald Trump’s statement, which set a deadline for achieving a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump is playing a “game of ultimatums” with Russia, which is a threat and a step towards conflict “with his own country,” Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel.
The US President responded on the social network Truth Social, calling this position “a very dangerous territory.”
The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council added that the American leader’s harsh reaction confirms Russia’s rightness.
“If the words of a former Russian president cause such a nervous reaction from a whole, formidable US president, then Russia is right and will continue on its own path,” he said.
Earlier, Trump had reduced the announced deadline for a ceasefire in Ukraine to 10-12 days.
