The Slovak government intends to oppose the adoption of the 19th package of EU sanctions against Russia, maintaining its previous position. This was announced by the country’s Prime Minister, Robert Fico.
Robert Fico confirmed that Slovakia will not change its course and will challenge the new restrictions. Earlier, Bratislava had already blocked the 18th package of sanctions using its veto power.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we are in a situation where we have no reason to change our position. We are not going to change our position. We wanted to talk, and we will talk about it in the next few days, about our position on the 19th package of sanctions,” Fico said.
Earlier, political expert Igor Alabuzhin said on the News Front’s “Opinion” program that Russia has the opportunity to strike a “blow” to Europe’s economy and military-industrial complex in response to new sanctions.
