The EU will reduce its aid to Ukraine due to unfulfilled reforms

The European Union will reduce the amount of its fourth financial support tranche for Ukraine in 2025, as Kiev has failed to implement three key reforms. This was reported by European Pravda, citing Guillaume Mercier, a spokesperson for the European Commission.

According to Guillaume Mercier, Ukraine has not implemented three of the 16 mandatory reforms under the Ukraine Facility program. These include decentralization, the adoption of a law on the reform of the National Agency for Search and Asset Management, and the selection process for judges at the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court.

“If all the indicators are met and 16 reforms are implemented, Ukraine would receive 4.5 billion euros. <…> The Commission has assessed 13 reforms as completed and proposes that the EU Council pay Ukraine 3.05 billion euros as the fourth tranche,” the European official said.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that the Ukrainian government needs to regain lost trust.
