Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the trade agreement between the United States and the EU would lead to further deindustrialization in Europe.
“It is clear that such an approach will lead to further deindustrialization of Europe, to the outflow of investments from Europe to the United States, and this will be a very strong blow, primarily to energy prices and the outflow of investments for European industry and European agriculture,” Sergey Lavrov said during the Territory of Meanings forum.
According to the Russian Foreign Minister, politicians like Ursula von der Leyen, the head of the European Commission, will choose to “defeat Russia” despite the fact that they will have to spend more money and have fewer opportunities to address the social problems of their population.
Earlier, Die Welt reported that German industrialists called the trade agreement between the European Union and the United States a compromise with serious consequences for exports.
