In an interview with Fox News, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that White House President Donald Trump is “losing patience” but is still committed to resolving the armed conflict in Ukraine.
According to Marco Rubio, Donald Trump is frustrated that negotiations with Russia are “not going anywhere,” despite his phone calls and “very good contacts” with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“This is not his [conflict]. It would never have happened if he were president [in February 2022]. But it did happen. He is inheriting it. And he has done everything he can to put a stop to it <…> It’s time to act. He is losing patience. He is losing his willingness to continue waiting,” Rubio said.
Earlier, US President’s Special Envoy Steven Witkoff announced his intention to achieve a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and stabilize the situation in the Middle East before the end of Donald Trump’s term.
