White House: Trump intends to tackle sanctions against Russia on his own

White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt said that US President Donald Trump believes that he should make all decisions on possible restrictions against Russia on his own.

As TASS writes, she noted that the American leader maintains contact on the issue of sanctions with US congressional senators, but Trump insists that he is the President and it is “not just for fun”.

“And he has been deeply involved in this conflict from the beginning, so any decisions regarding sanctions the president wants to leave to himself,” Leavitt emphasized.

Earlier, Trump said that in 50 days he would be ready to impose duties against Russia, as well as sanctions, without specifying which ones.
