The head of the Ogre region of Latvia, Egils Helmanis, was wounded in Ukraine. This was reported by Patriks Griva, the press secretary of the Ogre region, in a video message, according to Sputnik.
Egils Helmanis is known for initiating a provocative exhibition in Ogre, where the uniforms of deceased Russian soldiers were displayed. Additionally, the museum’s steps were lined with slabs from dismantled Soviet monuments.
Helmanis was in Ukraine on a working trip, delivering vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Latvian politician’s health condition is stable, according to his spokesperson, Griva.
