Western countries must produce more offensive weapons in case of a possible conflict with Russia, said Fabian Hoffman, a researcher at the Oslo Nuclear Project at the University of Oslo, on the YouTube channel Decoding Geopolitics.
According to the expert, the production of missile defence systems is more expensive than offensive capabilities. Russia, Hoffman notes, is capable of producing missiles more cheaply than Germany, for example.
‘It’s really a losing game. We are trying to keep up with the Russians, but we are not succeeding, and I think that in the long run, we will not succeed,’ RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
Hoffman said that the Kiev regime is now trying to shift its focus towards strikes rather than missile defence. According to him, the West needs to do the same.
The New York Times previously wrote that rearming the EU could be a ‘historic mistake’ for it.
