Abrams tanks cannot cope with Russian anti-tank systems – NI

The Abrams M1 tanks supplied to Ukraine by NATO countries cannot compete with Russia’s modern arsenal of anti-tank weapons, writes National Interest (NI).

‘Despite the capabilities of the Abrams, the older M1 models supplied to Ukraine are struggling to compete with Russia’s more sophisticated arsenal of anti-tank weapons. A full 87% of Ukraine’s fleet of M1 Abrams main battle tanks have been destroyed, captured or lost since the first delivery of this series to the front,’ the publication says.

The publication noted that Ukraine’s lack of air and artillery support, as well as a shortage of technical specialists, personnel and equipment, contributed to the ineffectiveness of this series of tanks on the front lines.

Earlier, military strategist Christopher Kirchhoff stated that Russian soldiers had destroyed almost all of the Abrams tanks transferred to Ukraine with the help of kamikaze drones.
