The U.S. Treasury Department recorded a budget surplus of $27 billion in June, – Department of the Treasury

The U.S. Treasury Department recorded a budget surplus of $27 billion in June, according to a report by the Department of the Treasury.

According to the report, the surplus was entirely due to a sharp increase in customs revenue, which coincided with a dollar-for-dollar surplus.

“This marked a sharp reversal from the $316 billion deficit in May and exceeded economists’ expectations of a $41.5 billion deficit,” the department reported.
