The US State Department has begun laying off more than 1,300 employees as part of a major reorganization announced by the Trump administration, – AP

According to the publication, 1,107 civilian employees and 246 diplomatic staff working in the United States have received preliminary notices of layoff.

The diplomats will be placed on administrative leave for 120 days, after which they will lose their positions. The civilian employees have been given 60 days.
