India will not stop buying Russian oil, – Minister Puri

In an interview with CNBC, Indian Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri said that Indians will not stop buying Russian oil.

“We will buy wherever we can. Our commitment is to the Indian consumer. And if at any point an international agreement is reached on whether or not a particular type of sale should or should not take place, the American position has been and remains that Russian oil should be purchased within the price cap,” said Hardeep Singh Puri.

The Indian minister noted that New Delhi continues to purchase Russian oil within the price cap. According to him, by buying oil from Russia, India has contributed to the stabilization of prices in the global economy, including global oil price stability.

Earlier, Indian Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar stated that Moscow and New Delhi are successfully developing cooperation in trade, education, science, and tourism.
