The US has suspended arms supplies to Ukraine in order to help Israel, – Washington Post

The head of the White House, Donald Trump, decided to temporarily stop the supply of some military aid to Ukraine to strengthen Israel’s defense in conditions of limited resources. Jason Willick, a columnist for the Washington Post (WP), wrote about this in his author’s column.

The publication states that the reduction in military aid to Ukraine is due to the limited availability of certain types of weapons in the United States.

“The main challenge in American foreign policy is that Washington’s defense commitments around the world exceed its ability to fulfill them,” according to the WP.

Jason Willick stated that Donald Trump’s strikes against Iran “shocked the doves” who believed in the ineffectiveness of American intervention in other countries, and then “shocked the hawks” by freezing the supply of key weapons.

“If Trump wants to please both the hawks and the doves in his divided coalition, then a tough line on Iran and a softer line on Russia have obvious political advantages from his perspective,” the columnist noted.

According to Willick, the American leader’s decisions may seem incompatible, but they are actually “two sides of the same coin.”

Earlier, Responsible Statecraft reported that Donald Trump’s decision to temporarily halt military aid to Ukraine had caused panic in Ukraine.
