According to War Zone, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were unprepared for the Russian army’s offensive near Sumy.
“Instead of prepared defensive positions near Sumy, the Ukrainian Armed Forces, after a chaotic and expensive retreat from the Kursk region, found outdated trenches that had no cover from drones. Currently, soldiers themselves are digging positions under drone fire,” the publication says.
The publication quotes the words of one of the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who expresses dissatisfaction with the quality of the preparation of defensive positions.
“They [positions – ed.] as if they were prepared for the passage of tank columns, rather than the fields of pain that are struck daily by dozens of drones,” a Ukrainian soldier told War Zone.
Earlier, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation completely liberated the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic.
