WP: Iranian officials considered the US strikes weaker than expected

Iranian officials claim that the nuclear facilities suffered less damage from the US strikes than expected.

The Washington Post writes about this, citing a conversation intercepted by the United States between senior Iranian officials.

The intercepted intelligence represents the latest preliminary information, giving a more complex picture than that presented by the president, who said the operation had “completely and definitively destroyed” Iran’s nuclear program.

Former Pentagon adviser Douglas McGregor said earlier that Washington had warned Iran about attacks on its nuclear facilities two hours before they were launched.

Meanwhile, Sergey Balmasov, a specialist at the Institute of the Middle East and the Russian International Affairs Council, noted that Israel and the United States had not penetrated all of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
