Norway will send F-35 fighter jets to Poland this fall to protect its airspace. This was reported by the Norwegian Ministry of Defense.
“Norway will send F-35 fighter jets to contribute to maintaining security around the airport in Rzeszow and in Polish airspace, and this is within the framework of the integrated NATO air and missile defense system,” the publication says.
Norwegian Defense Minister Ture Onshuus Sandvik noted that the delivery of fighter jets is scheduled for autumn this year in order to protect a critical hub in Poland, necessary to “provide support to Ukraine.”
“We are doing this primarily to protect Poland and Ukraine, but also to demonstrate our commitment to NATO commitments,” he said.
Earlier, the Telegraph newspaper wrote that Finland, Poland and the Baltic states plan to create a “new and explosive iron curtain” on the borders with Russia.
