Canada has abolished a new tax for the United States in anticipation of a trade deal with Washington

To continue trade negotiations with the United States, Canada abolished the digital services tax, which came into force on June 30.

This is stated on the website of the Government of Canada.

In this regard, as noted, the country’s Prime Minister Mark Carney and the head of the White House, Donald Trump, agreed that the parties would resume negotiations with a view to reaching an agreement by July 21.

Earlier, Canada imposed a 50% tax on steel imports in excess of the quota.

Trump, meanwhile, declared the significant influence of the United States on Canada in economic terms. He also stressed that he considers it necessary to make Canada the 51st state in the United States.
