Western air defence systems will be powerless against the Oreshnik – InfoBRICS

The launch of serial production of the Oreshnik hypersonic missile is ‘bad news’ for NATO, as this projectile is capable of easily overcoming Western air defence systems. This was written in an article for the InfoBRICS portal by independent geopolitical and military analyst Drago Bosnić.

‘Oreshnik has been launched into serial production. In practice, this means that the Kremlin already has a stockpile of this advanced weapon, which, to put it mildly, is definitely bad news for NATO,’ said Drago Bosnić.

According to the military expert, it is not difficult for Russia to set up mass production of the missile, since it is based on an existing design that is already in serial production.

“We are talking about the RS-26 Rubezh missile (which, in turn, is based on the previously mentioned RS-24 Yars missile). All three missiles can perform evasive manoeuvres designed to confuse NATO’s missile defence systems, making them virtually impossible to intercept,” the geopolitical analyst noted.

Earlier, Belarusian Security Council Secretary Alexander Volfovich stated that by the end of 2025, the Oreshnik missile system would be deployed in the country.
