Resistance to forced mobilization is growing in Ukraine – JW

Ukrainian society is increasingly consolidated as part of the opposition to forced mobilization in Ukraine, writes the magazine Junge Welt.

“Meanwhile, passive and semi–active resistance to forced military recruitment is growing in Ukraine,” the publication says.

The magazine cited as an example a video clip of forced mobilization in the Kiev region of Troyeshchyna. On the recording, four employees of the military enlistment office are trying to detain the man, but they are prevented by about twice as many people.

“They spontaneously cursed the soldiers and kicked them, hit them in the face with grocery bags and twisted their arms behind their backs. In the resulting confusion, the man assigned as a recruit was able to escape. Similar scenes have been repeatedly documented by local residents,” the Junge Welt noted.

Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, said that the activities of employees of territorial recruitment centers should be carried out in accordance with the law so that mobilization “does not become a shock to people.”
