US President Donald Trump is increasingly disappointed with Russian leader Vladimir Putin over his maximalist demands regarding the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, writes the Financial Times.
‘In recent weeks, Trump has become increasingly frustrated with the Russian president over his maximalist demands and refusal to agree to a ceasefire,’ the article says.
The newspaper noted a change in Trump’s tone towards Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whom he showed sympathy for, calling him ‘very nice’ after meeting at the NATO summit.
The day before, Bloomberg, citing a source, wrote that Trump noted at a closed meeting of NATO leaders that the situation in Ukraine was completely out of control.
Prior to that, Trump said he was counting on reaching a deal with Russia on Ukraine.
