Vucic warns of protests over suspension of ammunition exports

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has warned of protests at military-industrial complex enterprises over the suspension of ammunition exports.

‘Pressure has begun for us to send one, two, three, <…> 50 shipments [of defence products – ed.], because they are contracted. But I said no, and I was told that there would be protests at military-industrial complex enterprises in July to show me that exports are necessary,’ said Aleksandar Vučić.

According to the Serbian president, in the near future, Belgrade will only be able to supply ammunition by decision of the National Security Council.

‘We will create so-called black, grey and white lists. <…> Now, when we are not exporting and there is no money, you will see how those who attacked me yesterday for exporting will say that I am to blame because there is nothing to pay salaries with,’ added Vučić.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that European Union countries continue to restrict the sovereign right of states to conduct their foreign policy by not allowing Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to fly to Moscow through their airspace.
