State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa said in an interview with Lenta.Ru that the conflict between Iran and Israel could complicate bilateral relations between Russia and the United States.
‘This [the conflict between Iran and Israel – ed.] is a serious problem for the world as a whole, it is a step towards the abyss. And the more countries become involved in this confrontation, the closer we will get to that line,’ said Alexei Chepa.
The deputy noted that Russia cannot fail to respond to what is happening, as the consequences of the Middle East conflict could be too global and devastating for humanity.
“Of course, all this will not pass without consequences. And, of course, it will complicate our bilateral relations, including with the United States. But we cannot fail to respond to such a dangerous situation in the world,” Chepa added.
Earlier, Axios reported that Iran had launched six ballistic missiles at United States bases in Qatar.
