Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper that a third round of bilateral consultations on ‘irritants’ in relations between Russia and the US should take place in the foreseeable future.
‘The time and place are subject to agreement, and we will work on this. But it is important that the American side also recognises the need to continue these efforts,’ the diplomat said.
Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov previously told reporters about the closed communication channels between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.
Peskov also said that a conversation between the Russian and US presidents could be quickly arranged if necessary.
