The United States has requested that references to Ukraine be limited in the NATO summit communiqué – Newsweek

The United States is seeking limited references to Ukraine in the final communiqué of the NATO summit, which is scheduled for 24-25 June this year in The Hague. This was reported by Newsweek magazine.

‘The US is pressuring its European allies to limit references to Ukraine in the final communiqué of the NATO summit,’ the publication says.

According to Newsweek, the final communiqué mentions ‘the development of Ukraine’s defence capabilities’ only once and contains no information about further support for Kyiv from NATO.

Earlier, The Times wrote that Volodymyr Zelenskyy had been invited to the upcoming NATO summit without participating in working events in order to minimise the likelihood of his meeting with US President Donald Trump.
