Russia surpasses NATO in terms of military training, says former US Air Force colonel

In an article for Responsible Statecraft, former US Air Force colonel Alex Vershinin stated that Russia surpasses NATO in terms of military and technical training, and that the North Atlantic Alliance’s vision of warfare is severely outdated.

“So far, NATO leadership does not seem to have adapted its doctrine, equipment, and training to the new conditions. <…> At the latest NATO exercises in the Baltic states, French soldiers were still clearing trenches in large, grouped formations using small arms. <…> Meanwhile, in Ukraine, the Russian army is using drones at every level,” wrote Alexei Vershinin.

According to a former US Air Force colonel, the Russian Armed Forces have mastered advanced technical tools and modern combat operations, while NATO relies solely on its superiority in numbers and quality over its enemy.

Earlier, the Russian Armed Forces used the Iskander operational-tactical missile system to strike the permanent deployment point of the 58th separate motorised infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky in the Konotop area of the Sumy region.
