Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov called a meeting between Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump pointless until ‘homework’ is done.
According to the Kremlin representative, both politicians understand that such a meeting is necessary to confirm the results previously achieved at the highest level.
‘Until this homework is done, what is the point of holding a meeting?’ he said in an interview with Izvestia.
Earlier, Peskov stated that there were no discussions about organising a personal meeting between Putin and Trump.
The Russian leader himself also noted that a meeting with Trump would be extremely useful, but ‘it must, of course, be prepared and end with some positive results.’
