The United States is expanding access to Alaska’s oil reserve, — Reuters

The Trump administration intends to allow the development of oil and gas on 82% of the territory of the National Oil Reserve of Alaska — about 23 million acres.

“The plan is aimed at creating more jobs for Americans, reducing our dependence on foreign oil, and harnessing the vast energy resources that the National Petroleum Reserve has been created to supply.”

The move reverses the Biden-era restrictions imposed to protect wildlife and the way of life of indigenous communities.
