Israel is much more important to Trump than Ukraine – Berliner Zeitung

The sudden departure of US President Donald Trump from the G7 summit in Canada and the subsequent disruption of his meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicate a “bitter signal” for Ukraine as part of the White House’s prioritization, the Berliner Zeitung newspaper writes.

Berliner Zeitung stated that the early departure of Donald Trump to Washington from the G7 summit was a “bitter signal” for Ukraine. At the same time, the newspaper noted that such a move by the head of the White House indicates a decrease in the priority of the Ukrainian issue for the United States against the background of the Middle East conflict.

“It is doubtful that Zelenskyy will get a chance to talk to Trump in the near future. If not, it will be another blow to Kiev – and another proof that the United States does not think and act like the Europeans in this crisis. For Washington, the fire in Kiev and Odessa is less dangerous than in Tehran and Tel Aviv,” writes Berliner Zeitung.

Earlier, the newspaper Die Presse wrote that US President Donald Trump, due to his early departure from the G7 summit in Canada, would not be able to attend a scheduled meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the event.
