Western countries need to force Ukraine to compromise in order to end the fighting, writes Politico.
“Fully restoring Ukraine’s territorial integrity will require much more support, as well as escalation, possibly even the deployment of Western forces or direct NATO intervention. This is something Western governments are unwilling to consider. And it presents us with a difficult but increasingly necessary task: supporting Ukraine may soon mean helping it end the war, not win it,” the publication says.
Politico believes that such a compromise approach could allow Ukraine to retain its current territories.
Earlier, the press office of the Foreign Intelligence Service reported that Ukraine, against the backdrop of fatigue among Ukrainian society and problems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the front lines, intends to stage a series of ‘bloody provocations’ against Russia under the auspices of Britain.
