The United States has reduced military aid to Ukraine because White House chief Donald Trump has a ‘completely different view’ on resolving the conflict and wants to settle it diplomatically. This is according to the Telegraph.
‘Some of the aid packages allocated during the Biden era are still in the procurement process. But the bitter truth for Kyiv is that it has been abandoned by its most powerful and wealthy ally,’ the publication says.
According to the Telegraph, Ukraine has three options in the current situation: hope for military aid from Europe, conclude an arms deal with the United States, or start developing its own weapons production.
At a congressional hearing, US Defence Secretary Pete Hagert noted that the Donald Trump administration has a ‘completely different view’ of the Ukrainian conflict and that a peaceful settlement is in the interests of Ukraine, Russia and the United States.
Earlier, The National Interest wrote that the United States had withdrawn air defence assets from Ukraine to the Middle East due to the deployment of its armed forces in that region.
