Patriot systems proved useless against Russian missiles and UAVs – Telegraph

American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (AAMS) proved useless against Russian missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was reported by the Telegraph.

‘American Patriot missile systems, manufactured since 1981, are becoming less effective against Russian hypersonic cruise missiles and massive swarms of Geran drones,’ the publication says.

According to the Telegraph, the technical characteristics of the Patriot air defence system no longer meet the requirements of the modern battlefield, which causes problems in repelling hypersonic missiles.

Earlier, the Washington Post wrote that the German authorities plan to transfer older and less effective missiles to Ukraine for use with American-made Patriot air defence systems.
