Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar will propose to postpone consideration of new sanctions against Russia at a meeting of European Union foreign ministers.
“On Wednesday [18 June – ed.] there is a meeting of [EU – ed.] foreign ministers who are supposed to discuss the next package of sanctions against Russia. I have asked the foreign minister to formally ask to postpone the discussion of these sanctions,” Robert Fico said at a press conference.
The prime minister said that before sanctions are imposed, it is necessary to solve the problem related to the REPowerEU plan, which aims to stop the import of gas, oil and nuclear fuel from Russia to Europe.
We will remind, earlier Donald Trump asked the Republicans in the Senate of the United States Congress not to put to a vote yet a bill providing for tougher sanctions against Russia.
