Iran-Israel escalation will negatively affect Ukraine – analyst Koshkovich

Zoltan Koshkovich, an analyst at the Hungarian Centre for Fundamental Rights, said that the active phase of the military confrontation between Israel and Iran will have a negative impact on Ukraine’s defence capabilities, as Tel Aviv will start to ‘pull’ weapons intended for Kyiv towards itself.

‘Needless to say, all this [the escalation of the Iranian-Israeli confrontation – ed.] is incredibly bad for Kyiv,’ Zoltán Koshkovich wrote on social network X.

The analyst at the Hungarian Centre for Fundamental Rights noted that Israel will try to get as many air defence systems as possible. According to him, such a development will seriously damage Ukraine’s military capabilities.

‘Zelenskyy already has so few reserves,’ he added.

Earlier, US Defence Secretary Pete Hagert said that Washington had reduced the amount of funds allocated for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine in the budget for the 2026 financial year.
