Representatives from the United States and Canada are working on the text of a potential trade agreement between the countries, CBS News reports.
‘Although this is considered a step towards achieving the common goal of reaching an agreement, various sources warn that much work needs to be done before an agreement can be reached,’ the publication says.
The publication noted that during the process of working on the text, ‘the document was sent back and forth between Ottawa and Washington,’ but at this point, the parties have not agreed on any version of the trade deal.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that the trade deal between Washington and Beijing was in its final stages and only needed to be approved by the leaders of the two countries.
