US Treasury Department head Scott Bessent has warned of the risks of a default on government debt in the second half of summer.
“In the middle or late summer,” he said, when asked when the states would run out of money to pay bills on debts of more than $36.9 trillion.
According to the minister, it is a “moving target”, so there is no need to talk about specific months.
Earlier, Bessent in an interview with CBS TV channel noted that the United States will never default on the national debt.
