Gold has overtaken the euro to become the second-largest asset, – Bloomberg

Gold has overtaken the euro to become the second-largest asset in central bank reserves, taking 20 per cent by the end of 2024 – Bloomberg.

“Its rise is due to record purchases – more than 1,000 tonnes a year from 2022 – and a doubling of prices. Demand surged after Russia invaded Ukraine and the G7 countries froze its reserves.”

The share of the dollar, meanwhile, continues to decline, reaching 46 per cent.
