European Commission to unveil 18th package of anti-Russian sanctions – FT

On 10 June, the European Commission will present the 18th package of sanctions against Russia, which proposes to ban the use of the infrastructure of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2 gas pipelines. This is reported by the British newspaper Financial Times.

According to the newspaper, the sanctions package will include a reduction in the price ceiling for Russian oil from $60 to $45 per barrel. In addition, the EC plans to impose restrictions against several Russian banks and Russian-affiliated courts.

The publication says that the European Commission will add to the next sanctions package “security measures” for Belgium, which will allegedly protect this country from legal claims from Moscow.

Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that the republic intends to actively defend its interests in the context of the ban on energy supplies from Russia to the European Union.
