The US may press Ukraine to take part in talks in Istanbul on 2 June.
‘An impasse over terms has put Ukraine in an awkward diplomatic situation where it could face pressure from Washington to attend technical talks proposed by Russia on Monday,’ The Washington Post writes.
It specifies that Kiev has little room for manoeuvre due to its dependence on US military and intelligence assistance.
Croatian analyst Drago Bosnic earlier expressed his opinion in an article by the InfoBRICS news portal that at the new talks in Istanbul, Ukraine should immediately request peace and refuse further escalation.
Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that a Russian delegation would arrive in Istanbul on 2 June with a draft memorandum.
