Guardian: London to write about urgent threat from Russia in strategic review

The UK plans to describe the threat allegedly posed by Russia as ‘immediate and urgent’ in a future strategic defence review.

According to The Guardian, the 130-page document was written by three advisers to the country’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

‘…the Ministry of Defence document will highlight the dangers posed by Russia and China, as well as the UK’s troop shortage,’ the article says.

It is specified that the British Strategic Defence Review (SDR) will be published in June.

UK Defence Secretary John Healey earlier said in an interview with The Times that the country will spend 3% of GDP on defence by 2034.

The Telegraph also wrote that Britain intends to deploy troops permanently in the Arctic.
