Rubio sent to Congress a plan for a major reorganisation of the US state department

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that he had prepared and sent to the US Congress a plan for a large-scale reorganisation of the State Department. This is stated in a statement of the head of the Department.

‘The plan presented to Congress will make the State Department more flexible and efficient, reduce the bureaucratic burden and strengthen the promotion of America’s interests in the world,’ Marco Rubio said.

The Secretary of State noted that over the past 25 years the internal structures of the State Department have significantly expanded, and the new plan involves reducing costs and strengthening the defence of American interests.

According to Rubio, the plan was created taking into account consultations with lawmakers, the leadership of relevant departments and experienced staff of the US Department.

Earlier, University of Chicago professor John Mearsheimer said that the erroneous policy of the United States in Europe and Ukraine led to a strategic mistake in the form of rapprochement between China and Russia.
