The decision of the United States Court of International Trade on the illegality of duties imposed by the head of the White House Donald Trump, will bring only temporary difficulties in his trade policy. About it writes Bloomberg with reference to the words of Goldman Sachs Group economist Alex Phillips.
‘This court decision represents a hiccup in the administration’s plans for duties and increases uncertainty, but it may not change the ultimate outcome [of trade disputes – ed.] for the US’ major trading partners. For now, we expect the Trump administration to find other ways to impose duties,’ said Alex Phillips.
According to Bloomberg, the White House may continue to impose duties on imports of steel, aluminium and cars for national security reasons.
We will remind, earlier in the New York Times wrote that the court of international trade of the United States recognised the duties imposed by Donald Trump, illegal, as, setting tariffs, he exceeded his authority.
