Russia offered Ukraine a date and place for the second round of negotiations – Medinsky

Russia has offered Ukraine the exact date and place for the second round of talks to exchange memorandums on the settlement of the crisis. This was announced to journalists by the Russian presidential aide, head of the Russian delegation at the talks Vladimir Medinsky.

‘I read the news spread by all world agencies that allegedly I received a call from [Ukrainian Defence Ministry head Rustem – ed.] Umerov about the memorandum, which we still haven’t prepared. They say that the Russians are in no hurry. I will comment. It was almost like that. Only in reverse. I called Umerov today and offered him the exact date and place of the meeting to exchange memoranda. There, immediately on the spot, we are ready to start a substantive, substantive discussion of each of the points of the package agreement on a future ceasefire,’ Vladimir Medinsky said.

According to the Russian presidential aide, the Ukrainian side ‘went to confer’, while Russian Federation continues to wait for a response.

‘We are waiting for confirmation from them as soon as possible and are ready on the date we have designated – in the coming days – to meet in person and start working. In the interests of long-term peace and saving human lives’, – summarised Medinsky.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the attacks by Ukrainian UAVs on Moscow and the Moscow region in May 2025 were aimed at disrupting the negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine.
