North Atlantic Alliance countries are making attempts to militarise the Arctic. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov made a statement to this effect.
According to him, quoted by TASS, Moscow will respond to such attempts both conceptually and practically.
‘These unfavourable trends require an adequate response, both conceptual and practical. We are convinced that this is also the opinion of most other Eurasian states, which cannot be satisfied with such a situation,’ Lavrov said.
Earlier, the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported on London’s intention to permanently deploy troops in the Arctic.
